The phylogenetic goal of any organism is to replicate his/her genes as many times as possible. This is what drives the propagation of our race, this is the reason why relationships happen, this is why you are on this website.
Two people are in a relationship together. The girl is pregnant. The guy cheats on the girl. Cultural stigma dictates that he crossed an inviolable ethical line, but evolutionarily speaking, has the girl’s biological imperative been compromised in any way? No. She still reproduces and creates an offspring who will carry her genes to further generations.
Now imagine the girl cheated on the guy instead. Has his biological imperative been compromised? His legacy has been destroyed. Assuming he stayed monogamous; he has failed his mission as an organism.
Understand two things:
- Biological imperatives always win out in the long scheme of things. It would be naïve to underestimate the power of social coercion based on religion and other ethical standards; there is a reason why millions of people practice abstinence despite its contradiction with their humanistic desires. However, biomechanics always wins. Always.
- From the example above, it’s easy to see how men face double punishment if their partner doesn’t remain loyal. Not only has their ego been damaged because they were conditioned to believe in monogamy, their prerogative as an organism has also been subverted.
In a world where polygamy is demonized and One-woman relationships have become the norm, men are kept within the reins of servitude. And we wonder why there are so many insecure betas out there. The idea of a relationship, from a man’s point of view, is absolutely fucking absurd.
Why then, do you harbor such gushy feelings towards ONE girl? Because in a world where you MUST stay monogamous due to cultural stigma, you are FORCED to develop Oneitis. If this ONE girl leaves you, your legacy is done. If this ONE girl fucks another dude, your genes are never getting passed on. If this ONE girl leaves you, you have to ego invest yourself all over again into another girl.
Does any other animal out there in the world practice monogamy? No. Even animals that people long thought were “monogamous” like some penguins and turtles, “cheat” on each other.
Why do men tend to regress into betas, become over-possessive, act more needy, and become more insecure as a relationship progresses? Because without being able to fuck other women, their anxiety as an organism who must reproduce increases every single day. The reality of monogamy contradicts our masculine identity. We subconsciously realize every passing day “holy shit… if she cheats even once, I will become non-existent”.
